PICO RIVERA - When the Borders Books & Music store opened on Washington Boulevard in 2003, many wondered if it would survive in the blue-collar, predominantly Latino neighborhood. But now the store is the chain's top-selling location for Latino-related books. And it has become a must-stop for Latino authors hoping to break into Los Angeles' literary world.
