Central Jersey school districts work to minimize dropout rates |

CENTRAL JERSEY —Black male students in Plainfield are more likely to drop out of high school than their female counterparts, according to data released by the state Department of Education. But, Plainfield's mostly minority population makes it immune to the dropout disparity throughout the state, where black and Hispanic students are dropping out at much higher rates than their white and Asian counterparts.
