By BRANDON LAUSCH AND MARK SPIVEY The State Health Planning Board voted Thursday to recommend the conditional closure of Muhlenberg Regional Medical Center after officials, Plainfield residents and some Muhlenberg employees spent more than an hour telling board members that their local hospital is as vital to their lives as water. About 150 people traveled to a Holiday Inn conference room here Thursday morning to make their final pleas to save the 131-year-old institution that is Plainfield's largest private employer. |
