Two weeks before her inaugura tion as Perth Amboy's mayor, Wilda Diaz yesterday announced the transition team that will guide her administration as she takes over from longtime mayor Joseph Vas.

Co-chairing Diaz's team are Ra phael Caprio, vice president of Continuous Education and Outreach at Rutgers University, and Maria Vizcarrondo, director of the Department of Child and Family Well-Being for Newark since 2006. The team also includes Trenton Councilman Manuel Segura and Elizabeth Councilwoman Patricia Perkins-Auguste.

Diaz said her campaign manager, Hector Bonilla, and other local supporters are also advising her, but she will lean most heavily on Caprio and Vizcarrondo, veterans of administrative transitions. Caprio worked for former governor Christie Whitman. Vizcarrondo was tapped to help smooth the path for former governor James E. McGree vey and Gov. Jon Corzine and Newark Mayor Cory Booker.
