Houston Chronicle America's young Latinos should continue to be a hot market for businesses to target as their numbers grow and their wealth increases, according to a study by the Tomas Rivera Policy Institute. "They haven't hit their peak in expenditures, and they haven't hit their peak in income," said Harry Pachon, president of the Los Angeles-based institute, who presented the Merrill Lynch-sponsored report, "Increasing Wealth in the Latino Community," to Houston's business leaders Thursday. But more than young Latinos, the Hispanic community in general, from low-wage earning immigrants to the affluent, is increasingly being courted by advertisers, Pachon said. |
