Far from being a pessimist, I try hard to offer solutions for problems rather than just sit idly by while the world goes to hell. But issues do come up sometimes that defy my comprehension -- and make me want to scream. I'm thinking of the travesty that transpired in Charles Sumner Elementary School in Camden where young Hispanic students were made to eat their lunch while sitting on the gymnasium floor.

We won't even discuss the supposed reason for this inexcusable punishment. In my mind, there is no reason that would justify it. But school board president Sara Davis and the infamous, dysfunctional Camden Board of Education, under the leadership of Superintendent Bessie LeFra Young have done just that.
