By ROB SPAHR The three Republican candidates in the 3rd District U.S. House of Representatives race agree on many possible ways to curb the illegal immigration that flows into the U.S. over the Mexican border, but a major rift exists when it comes to whether a fence should be built along the border. Instead, Myers wants to use high-tech devises to patrol the border from the air and ground. "The fence is only slated to cover a third of the border. Spending millions to build a fence that people can dig under, climb over or go around is simply not good enough," said Chris Russell, a spokesman for Myers. But Murphy and Kelly are both calling Myers' suggestion a clear conflict of interest, since, they said, Myers' employer - Lockheed Martin - is a "major player" in the development of that technology.
