Conditions affecting of immigrant detainees in jails throughout the United States is attracting attention and an area civil rights group is looking to bring some of that scrutiny here on Thursday.

A protest rally is being planned for 6:30 p.m. in front of the Middlesex County Administration Building, Bayard Street, New Brunswick.

The New Jersey Civil Rights Defense Committee has planned the rally to protest the detention of upwards of 150 immigrant detainees being held in the Middlesex County Adult Correction Center in North Brunswick pending review of their deportation status.
