By MATT KATZ The incumbent school board president, Sara Davis, will continue in that role for another year after winning a board vote Tuesday night over newly elected member Jose Delgado. Susan Dunbar-Bey, who was appointed to the board last year, was selected as the vice president in a 9-0 vote. Davis was retained as president in a 6-2 vote, with outgoing Vice President Martha Wilson abstaining. Delgado voted for himself and was joined by Theo Spencer. Delgado served on the board for two decades until 2002, when a new state law prevented him from running for re-election. Camden votes for three school board members every three years, with the governor and mayor appointing the remaining six members in alternative years. The school board president in Camden is responsible for running meetings and is the point person on the board for communicating with the superintendent. In Camden, the board also generally speaks to the press through its president. Even though he didn't win the presidency, Delgado showed indications at Tuesday night's reorganization meeting that he is willing to buck the rest of the board.
