The Marrero family, lifted from impoverished living conditions with the help of others after being featured in a "20/20" segment on Camden, children and poverty in early 2007, continued reaching out to help other poor youngsters this week -- this time in the seemingly unlikely setting of Cherry Hill.

Victor Marrero and his sons -- Billy Joe, 20; Josh, 19; Ethan, 17; Steven, 16; and Jonas, 15 -- visited and spoke with members of a Carusi Middle School faculty group intent on helping an increasing number of students who are living in poverty.

"It wasn't easy. We went through a lot of hungry times," said Victor Marrero, a Puerto Rico native who raised his sons largely on his own.
