Ethnic communities in the United States this year will spend $59.8 billion on telecommunications services, comprising more than one-third of all residential telecommunications spending, according to a study released today by a market research firm.

Hispanics, the country's largest minority that makes up 14.8 percent of the total U.S. population, will the spend the most of any minority group on telecommunications spending, reports Insight Research Corp. of Boonton.
