MORRISTOWN -- At a ceremony recognizing the start of construction on a transit village, Mayor Donald Cresitello called on the state to be more accommodating to municipalities that undertake redevelopment projects.

Cresitello said Public Advocate Ronald Chen is "destroying redevelopment projects" and added that municipalities need to have the ability to take over private property in a redevelopment area, even if the property owner is against it.

"Without the process of eminent domain, redevelopment in New Jersey is dead," Cresitello said.
