By MEREDITH MANDELL PASSAIC -- Reyna Lucero frantically sewed a piece of white satin on a doll. It was already Wednesday, and she had three days left to create 30 "princess dolls" as part of centerpieces for a client's "quinceañera" in Brooklyn. She also needed to complete the archways and seat covers for another client's wedding at Holy Trinity Church in Passaic. She paced around her shop at 205 Monroe St. called "Recuerdos de Amor," which means "loving memories," answering phone calls, cutting flowers and carrying the svelte doll that would be the focal point of the centerpiece beneath her arm. |
