Of Superdelegates and the ‘Black-Brown Divide’ |

By Ariel Alexovich THE NEW YORK TIMES Democratic House members and university professors of color held two events in Washington within the past 24 hours where they spoke frankly about the issues facing their communities.
A dozen members of the Congressional Black Caucus filed into the pews of a chapel on the Howard University campus Monday night to talk to college students about the election. And at a seminar today, the so-called “black-brown” divide between African-Americans and Latinos was batted about with the Democratic primary race as its foreground.
The legislators, including the powerful Charles Rangel, chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee, implored the audience to capture this special moment, with one African-American and one female nominee, and vote.
