11ALIVE.COM The fierce battle to win their party's presidential bid intensifies as the Democratic Primary as Super Tuesday approaches. Many of the wins so far have been by a slim margin. And every vote, especially within an exploding Latino community, will be pivotal this election. Fernando Andrade emigrated from Chile 18-years ago. It took 16-years for him to become a United States citizen. It has taken back-breaking labor, more than a decade of landscaping, maintenance and carpet cleaning, to get him to this point. In Georgia, that voter base has exploded. “We estimated that as of November 2007 there are about 93,000 Latinos registered to vote in the state of Georgia. The growth rate in the last couple of years has been 90 percent," said Jerry Gonzalez of the Association of Latino Elected Officials.
