Attorney General Anne Milgram on Tuesday night rebuffed a call by more than 500 people to launch a nationwide search for new police leaders for this crime-ridden city.

"I believe strongly we need both a public safety director and a police chief in the city of Camden," Milgram said. But she added, "We are a ways from that."
