A group of women who meet in a LEAP (Leadership, Education and Partnership) Academy University Charter School classroom chat about issues related to the school.

They enthusiastically discuss their assigned tasks and how happy they are with the students' academic achievements.

They are mothers of the Camden academy's students. They talk about the school as if it were something belonging to them, and indeed, it does.

Jeannie Rodriguez says she loves LEAP. She feels respected as a parent and even has the possibility to join an internal decision-making team at the school.

LEAP's policy has been to let parents help make decisions since it was founded in 1993 by Dr. Gloria Bonilla-Santiago.
