So by now we've all read a million stories about how Latinos impacted Tuesday's elections.  We're the heavyweights now (funny how people are just finding that out now).  We're the media darlings.  Everyone is rushing to analyze us as though we are a new species that dropped out of the sky right before Primary Day.  Assumptions about being made that we all backed one candidate and that the Dems will have our unquestioned support come this November because we all think and dream and do everything alike.  And, by the way, how come I'm not seeing many -- or any -- Latino pundits/analysts on so-called mainstream television?  It drives me nuts when I hear Wolf use that ****** slogan - CNN's "best political team"  - and then I see NO Latino face on my screen. Quite frankly, all this chatter makes me want to jump on a plane and head to Puerto Rico where I would arm myself with some very strong rum and cokes and just lie on the beach and mull over what time I was going to head over to Piņones for pargo a la parilla or perhaps some greasy bacalaitos.

I think that first and foremost were are not Latinos,Chinese,Africans or Greeks, but Americans. Unless one is an illegall alien, the Latino,  label is inappropiate. Same is true for African-American or whatever other hyphenated name is in vogue today. We must see ourselves as Americans, not where ever we or our forefathers came from. The United State is not a homogenous country, society, but rather made of  many other cultures or nationalities. That is what makes us a truly democratic society. It does not matter if your last name is Martinez, Huan, Mobuto or  Ali Baba, what matters is that we are all Americans. It also does not matter whether one is a Christian, Jew, Muslim or an Atheist ,Repliblican, Democract , Independent or apolitical.
By the way, I'm all for heading down to Puerto Rico and sitting on the beach with a Cuba Libre and some cuchifritos on my hands or perhaps some pargo a la parrilla, then again, bacalaitos sounds good to me also.  Smiley
There is one thing that I find somewhat revolting, and that is these overweight ladies that wear very tight pants and let the world know where their intellingence is located!!!!!!!!
