Did you know there are 2.8 million Latinos in New Jersey?

The Census was wrong. The Feds were wrong. The State is wrong.

Now there are over 2.8 million Latinos in New Jersey, according to the Hispanic Directors Association (H D A).

According to their press releases, the HDANJ: “The non-profit is an umbrella organization representing 32 Latino community-based organizations across New Jersey serving approximately 700,000 families annually.”

!Caramba! If Latino families average about 4 persons each (on the low side), then there must be two million eight hundred thousand Latinos in New Jersey!

!Diablos! This means that each one of those organizations, on average, serve close to 100,000 people per year!

!Recórcholis! So every Latino person from the abuela to the nieto in the state of New Jersey ( the whole enchilada) is being served by one of those organizations! That also means that you (if you are Latino or Hispanic)  and I, must be being served by one of those organizations.

Funny, I don’t recall being “served” by any of them. Do you?

Maybe it is a mistake. Or maybe they just want to give the impression that they are more important than they really are.

Sr. Colon, gotta love your lighthearted take on the 2.8 Latinos in our fair state of Nueva Jersey, including the whole enchilada, or is it Arroz y Habichuelas con Chuletas ?  Cool

It is  lighthearted, but also serious.

Thank you.
