Regarding the Filipino couple who face deportation, I would like to offer an alternative that they may use. He being a medical doctor serving an underserved area, he could then apply for a J1 visa. This visa is given to a sponsored MD from foreign contries who are willing and able to work for a few years in an underserved area, which of course he has already done so. J1 visa holders receive the prevailing wages of their respective field. They are not exploited. Of course, there is more information and prerequisites that I'm unable to point out, given that  I am not a lawyer.
The best of luck to them and any others that find themselves in similiar situations. Smiley
